Preoperative preparations |
- Do not feed your animal 12-24 hours before the operation and prevent it from drinking at least 3-5 hours before the operation.
- A hungry animal takes anesthesia much easier.
- Narcosis may cause vomiting, during which stomach content may get into respiratory tract, and cause a lot of complications.
- It is advisable that animals should be with empty urinary bladder and intestines.
- Please bring your dog leashed and with a muzzle on. A cat should be placed in transportation box or bag, that closes well. Scared animals can become aggressive even to their owner.
- Take warm clothes to keep the animal warm in case of cold weather.
- During narcosis it is also possible to:
- Trim nails
- Clean ears
- Examine the mouth and remove dental calculus if necessary
- Brush, wash and remove fur knots
- All additional services must be agreed to upon in advance
- After the surgery, the animal stays under the medical supervision for at least 2-5 hours
- If necessary, the animal can be brought to the clinic during opening hours and picked up when it is most convenient (must be confirmed in advance)
