Postoperative pet care
After the surgery, the pet remains under the effects of the anesthesia for 24 hours and is unable to react adequately. It is advised to :
  • Place your animal on the floor, because coordination of movements is disturbed, and the animal may fall
  • Keep your animal warm, cover it with a blanket or place a hot-water bottle next to it (narcosis causes metabolism to slow down and disturbs thermoregulation)
  • Place your animal on an easy cleaning surface, because you pet under narcosis may unexpectedly empty it's bladder or vomit
  • Avoid loud sounds and quick movements
  • Call us if you are worried about your pet or find its behavior odd
