Haemoplasma spp

Haabersti Zoovetkeskus koostöös Bristoli Veterinaarülikooligi viib läbi uuringut Haemoplasma Spp. esinemisele kassipopulatsioonis. Tegemist on vereparasiidiga mis kandub edasi verdimevate lülijalgsete ( sääsed, kirbud, puugid) aga ka nakatunud loomade hammustuste kaudu.

Peale nakatumist Haemoplasma Spp.-ga võivad kassil tekkida erinevad kliinilised tunnused nagu kõrge palavik, suurenenud lümfisõlmed, gingivostomatiit jne. Kui nakatunud loom hammustab või küünistab inimest võivad ka temal tekkida nn. küünistushaiguse (catscratch disease) sümptomid: palavik, peavalu ja generaliseerunud lümfoadenopaatia.
